Week 4 "FIRST WEEK IN MONTANA!"

So I'm finally out in the Mission field.  Wahoo!  So I got in to Billings on Tuesday and met my Mission president.  Pres. Larson and his wife Sister Larson, and they are Awesome, Honestly when I was leaving the MTC, I was so excited, but it wasn't because I was going to Montana, it was because it felt like I was going home to Payson.
So we got out in Montana, and met Pres. And Sister Larson. And they took us to the Mission home.  And when we got in there, it felt like home, Sister Larson made Dinner.  And to me it is amazing how they think of each missionary as their own, to them when they get a whole set of Missionaries, they think of them as their kids.

So, on Thursday we went out to our Areas and Met our Trainers.  So My area is about 4 hours away from Billings.  My Trainer is Elder Hallett, and he is from Washington, and has been out for 8 months.  So My Zone is the Butte zone, and Butte is a little town in Montana which is the Most Ghetto town In Montana I hear.  But the areas I cover are Deer Lodge, Phillipsburg, and Anaconda.  So we have two apartments.  So one is in Deer Lodge which I'm staying at right now and it's a pretty nice apartment, and the other one is in Anaconda which I haven't been to yet but we are moving In to that one tonight up until Thursday and than we are coming back to Deer Lodge.

So on Friday night we were just kinda finding people, and than Elder Hallett knows someone in a house we drove by, so we went and knocked on that house and he wasn't there but he has two roommates that live their with him So we talked to them for about 2 Hours until 9:30, so at about 8:30ish we asked if we could share a message with him.  So Elder Hallett was going to teach the restoration, and than we changed to the Plan of Salvation Because it felt right.  So we were teaching him about the Plan of salvation. Oh and his name is Amadeo and I don't know the other ones name.

Ok so we were teaching Amadeo on the Plan Of Salvation, and he was a smart guy he actually knows the Bible Really well, he's been to a bunch of different churches, LDS, Babtist, Catholic, Muslim ETC. So he was a very a smart guy and knew the Bible very well.  So we were teaching him and the other guy walked out with his dog, and he asked us if we could give a Blessing to his dog because his dog was Homeless, and that is what he was saying, so we prayed for his dog, and it was honestly a pretty cool experience.  And Amadeo wanted to talk to our Bishop to try to get over some Word Of Wisdom issues, so those were the first inactives that I met that were interested.

So on Saturday Elder Neil. L. Anderson came to Billings, which is really rare so i came on a good week, so he came to Billings to talk to the whole Mission.  So the whole Mission went to Billings, so we Literally drove 4 hours to my area and 4 hours back.  But it was good.  The whole mission got to take a picture with him, and while we were waiting for him to come out, one of the Zone Leaders for the Billings area told everyone to Bend their knees so no one would pass out, and apparently one person didn't so he passed out.  But they got him back up and he was fine, it was honestly kinda funny, but don't judge me on laughing at that, you guys would laugh to, but we got the picture taken, and right after that we got the opportunity to shake Elder Anderson's hand which was a great experience.  He talked about a Mission of course, like to do your best and your a successful missionary.  It was a great talk.

Ok Now to Sunday, we went to the Anaconda ward, and you guys have seen our Church in Spring Lake right, and you guys think that one is small.  Well this one is about 5 times smaller.  There might be about 40 people that was there.  About 2 Deacons and 2 Priest, I didn't see any teachers it was crazy.  But we met this one guy that we sat by in Sacrement meeting, His name is Jonathan Glenn, he said that the last time he came to church was about 14 years ago.  He's been Babtized, so me and Elder Hallett look forward to teaching him.  He said that he is just trying to start over, which is Awesome to me.

I love this Gospel and I'm so grateful for this opportunity to serve.  I'm so happy that I get to teach these people the gospel and I already love this area so much.  I know this church is true and I'm so glad I get to serve those people around me and teach those the gospel that need it and just don't know it yet.
